Five sneaky winners of the bpb & BagSutra Contest -Week Three are:
S.M: This was a dare thrown at me many years ago in Bangalore: My first job as a junior copywriter, and i was taken drinking by a bunch of office peeps- they dared me to whack a souvenir from the pub and i lifted the emptied beer pitcher we'd been going at (praise be to big bags!). My bag stank of beer for some days after and i've lost it since, but i still have the pitcher and it totally comes in handy when friends come over :)
C.F: The sneakiest thing I've carried in my hand bag was a bunch of different salamis, pastramis, and other cold cuts for my boyfriend who was stuck in a very strictly vegetarian hospital (you might guess which one if you're from mumbai) and was craving them :-)
S.A: Carried beer bottles in my bag to my grandmother's surprise birthday party because I had to attend another party after hers.
K.U: The sneakiest thing that I've ever carried in my bag is a dozen fried momos. A couple of years ago was going for a film with a girlfriend at Chankya Theater in Delhi....as theaters don't allow outside food, we had to hide the momos in my brand new super expensive tote. It's a memory that's never going to go away... just like the smell of momos didn't from that bag :-(
M.M: The sneakiest thing I have ever carried in my handbag was a bunch of mini whisky and vodka bottles. This was in a dry state during my college days. A bunch of us had planned to go for some rock concert, and on our way back sourced some "illegal" and very expensive booze from someone. Unfortunately the same idea must have occurred to the police because that night they stopped cars all along the road and checked for drugs and alcohol!! Fortunately my hobo with all odds and ends escaped with a cursory look. You can imagine my extreme agitation throughout but :)....Needless to say, we had a great party later :).
